Parenting can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging, particularly when a child or teenager is experiencing emotional, behavioural or developmental difficulties. Parents can sometimes feel overwhelmed, unsure of how to respond or caught in repeated patterns of conflict and disconnection.
Parenting counselling in the Sutherland Shire provides parents and caregivers with a supportive space to better understand their child's needs, strengthen their relationship and develop practical strategies for responding to difficult moments with greater confidence.
My approach recognises that behaviour is communication. Rather than focusing only on stopping unwanted behaviour, we can explore what may be underneath it, including emotional needs, attachment, stress, developmental factors and the child's need for connection and co-regulation.
