Neuro-affirming counselling recognises that people experience, process and communicate the world in different ways. Rather than viewing neurodivergence as something that needs to be fixed or changed, therapy focuses on understanding your individual strengths, needs and experiences, while supporting you to navigate challenges in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
Counselling can support neurodivergent children, adolescents and adults, including people with ADHD, autism and other forms of neurodivergence, as well as those exploring or questioning their neurotype. Therapy may focus on emotional regulation, anxiety, relationships, communication, self-understanding, overwhelm, identity, executive functioning and the impact of masking or feeling different from others.
At Interpersonal Therapy, I provide a supportive, respectful and flexible therapeutic environment where you can communicate and engage in ways that work for you. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs, with consideration given to sensory preferences, communication style, processing time and different ways of expressing emotions. The goal is not to make you fit a particular mould, but to support greater self-understanding, confidence, connection and wellbeing.
